A New Day

There are times when things are overwhelming and you wonder if you have the strength to go on.  At the end of a long hard day, soo many things go through your mind – “Am I cut out for this”, “I don’t think I can do this anymore”, “If only I’d done things differently”.   It’s a never ending round of doubts and questions.  However, the beauty of it all is that tomorrow is another day.   As I sat and gazed at the sun rising on the Barbados coastline, I realized that despite the trials of yesterday, today is a new day. Another day to get up and try again, to start over.    So here’s to a lifetime of sunrises and the opportunity to face a new day!

Joining the club

It was just an idea years back and I let it go.  Every once in a while the idea would resurface, but I wasn’t sure.  During the holidays I went to visit a friend and decided to make a move.  I got the call the day after New Years and without hesitation I took the plunge and joined the club.  I was ready to bring on a new member of the household. Almost 7 weeks later, after rushing to home goods to buy a blanket and not having a clue what I was doing, I hopped onto the Port Jefferson Ferry to go pick him up.  During the trip, I began to wonder if I was cut out for this, was I making the right decision.

The past week has been filled with lots of puppy kisses, wee-wee pads, belly rubs, and running in circles around the coffee table early morning and evenings.  My friends weren’t kidding when they said it was like having a newborn.  It’s been quite interesting. Has it been exhausting? Yes, however, with each passing day I look forward to coming home and having playtime.  And his personality is already starting to develop.  These are definitely exciting times at Casa Medina.

So without further ado, introducing Bailey.  And yes, he loves to hang out with his “big brother”  on the couch and just chill.  What a life!!!  Oh and he wants me to let everyone know that if anyone is interested in early morning runs around the coffee table, hit him up. He’s interested!  xoxo

Manny + Jhonny | Fairfield County Engagement Session

There are days when nothing but hugs and kisses will keep you warm.  Those hugs and kisses definitely came in handy when Raf and I got together with Manny and Jhonny for their engagement session on one of the coldest days this winter. I shiver just thinking about it, but then again, when I look at the warmth and love eminating from Jhonny and Manny, it makes my heart melt.  I love the simple love between these two – the way she looks at him and they way he puts a smile on her face.  You can’t help but love love.   Here are a few of my favorites from this session.  Get ready for lots of hugs!!!

Engagement session at hotel zero

We started off at Hotel Zero Degrees

Then these two braved the frigid temps down at Stamford Landing for a few outdoor shots. Brrrr….
